About Us

Tilly with one of her Pony Club coaches holding the Showjumping Member Cup of the Year. Summer 2014

Young Equestrian with world famous training under her belt

Tilly is one of only a few young equestrians with world-class training, experience and education in the industry. Tilly has received training from many big names in the equine community for example: Ellen Whitaker, William Micklem, Taylor Vard and more recently, she is now based with James Davenport and Angelie Von Essen, where she works very closely with them. Tilly attended Hartpury University for 3 years and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science. By having this degree she is among a group of very few people in the equine industry that has extensive acedemic knowledge and practical experience in the equine sector, therefore, making her more than qualified and capable for coaching equestrians. Tilly was born in Dublin, Ireland where she lived until she was 18 with her family, consisting of: Andrew Shaw - her father, Ellen Shaw - her mother, and of course her three older brothers,Wesley, Parker and Ross.

Tilly winning the FEI CSI1* at Peelbergen on Colombia de Beaufour and also 2nd on One Diamond.

Experience

Despite coming from a non-horsey background, Tilly started riding at the age of 5 and worked incredibly hard to make her dream a reality. At the age of 13, she got her first pony, Whisper, and the love for horses really began to flourish. She decided after only 2 years with Whisper that it was time for something a little taller and more competitive. Bushmills Fionn came along and definitely lived up to his name. Both Tilly and Fionn won many Inter-school competitions every weekend in Ireland, both individually and with their school team, Wesley College. Tilly had many benefits by being on her school team as they regularly did training as a team both with their chef de quiepe, Robert Garland and William Micklem. She was a regular member of the bray pony club, where she also received great training from many coaches and attended many events. She won the overall showjumping member cup of the year at their camp. Since then Tilly has competed on many different horses ranging from difficult to professional. More recently Tilly has competed on the european circuit in many big name equestrian centres for example, Sentower, Peelbergen, Azelhof etc. At her very first FEI CSI1* she had two new rides consisting of Colombia de Beaufour and One Diamond but despite this Tilly placed 6th, 3rd and 1st with Colombia and came 3rd and 2nd with One Diamond.

Tilly graduating Hartpury University with a Bsc (Hons) in Equine Science.

Role Model

Coming from a non-horsey background, Tilly has shown that with dedication, perseverance, and hard work you can achieve your dreams. This makes Tilly a perfect role model for young children, teenagers, or even young adults. Tilly is enthusiastic, kind, empathetic, and energetic making her a great coach for everyone.
